“We are in Torgnon, a sunny and picturesque village set on a natural terrace surrounded by meadows and woods, on the left side of the majestic valley of the Matterhorn. The village was able to maintain over time a good balance between agriculture and tourism, developing a top-level hospitality linked to winter sports and summer hiking, flanked by a network of farms which mainly raise dairy cattle and in summer run the pastures in the upper area of the paese. We are located in the hamlet of Mazod, one of 22 of the boroughs of the municipality of Torgnon. Our last name is Perrin: The brothers Jean Paul with his wife Iris and Patrick, mother Elsa, father Carlo, the elderly uncles and me.
WE DEAL OF AGRICULTURE WITH PASSION, A TRADITION that we handed down for centuries
We raise breed cattle of Aostan breed, whose milk is partly transferred to the dairy in Valtournenche for the production of fontina cheese, partly transformed into other delicious cheese by the cheese maker Patrick in the small dairy company. We produce the “Bleu de Torgnon”, tome of various kinds, yogurt, fresh cheeses.
In addition to the cattle from which we also get quality meat, we have chickens and rabbits, a horse, orchards, small fruits, potato fields and the vines with the vine trees in Chatillon. Our products, in part purchased in the small farm shop, are cooked by Elsa to make delicious dishes that can be tasted at the farm, together with excellent local wines.
The farm Boule de neige was opened in 1990. Our guests are welcomed in a rural house with three floors. On the ground floor is the small and cozy dining hall. The upper floors house each a double room and a small apartment with terrace. The wooden furniture, in classic mountain style, makes the room warm and familiar. These features allow us to provide our guests with the sunlight from sunrise to sunset and a picturesque view of the valley of the Matterhorn. The building is made of wood, a material that gives a natural intimacy, which stores heat in winter while protecting from overheating in the summer season, and it ensures a high sound insulation.
The construction is particularly environmentally-friendly: the thermal containment allows significant energy savings. The farm has three floors: on the first floor are the kitchen and the dining room for breakfast and snacks, on the second and third floor we have 4 bedrooms and 3 spacious apartments equipped with every comfort and furnished in a modern mountain style ».
