The mountains surrounding Becetto are very suitable for ski touring. The whole basin from Colle Cervetto to Testa di Garitta Nuova with its soft slopes and spectacular landscapes is the favourite destination for this sport enthusiasts. There aren’t dangers in this area even in the periods where the snow is not yet shored up or when the temperature begins to rise.
Passion, determination and constancy for trying reaching a life dream, have convinced the founder of this Hotel to change drastically his life and “dive into” the hosting and catering sector. So he built a hotel, a restaurant, a small grocery and tobacco shop, as well as a taxi and school bus service. A full range of services that made of Becetto village a little paradise island, where the visitor stays comfortably and can start pleasant walks on the ancient paths connecting the various parts of the village, on foot or by mountain bike during the summer.
In winter, Becetto is the perfect start for ski touring enthusiasts, for example towards Mount Testa di Garitta Nuova, a basin without any dangers and offering spectacular landscapes.
Hotel “Del Becetto” is a stopover of the Valle Varaita Trekking, an itinerary of 12 stopovers that runs through the whole valley on the both sides, from Verzuolo to Chianale and backwards to Costigliole – Saluzzo.
Last but not least, it’s our wine and food culture: the restaurant “del Becetto” offers a traditional and genuine cooking style with two specialities: “raviole” and game.
Becetto village gets its name from the local word “bessé” meaning “birch wood”.
It’s located at 1400 m altitude on the watershed peak between two streams: Crosa and Cantarane. These run into deep coves on the sun exposed side of the mountains over Sampeyre municipality, whose Becetto belongs to.
Becetto is composed by five hamlets:
Paschero, whose houses surround the church
Valla, a little after the main square
Graziani and Civalleri, located to the west
Morelli, the last residential area before the pastures
Further above you find the mountain pastures, with the shelters for cattle, where the people used to go for pasturing and make hay in summer.
