“My name is Michela and from May 2013 I manage Casaalpina. I’m 40 years old, three children, a husband, a degree in conservation of cultural heritage, a license as tour guide, several seminars on territorial marketing and ten years working for the Natural Park of the Maritime Alps. What else? A boundless passion for the mountains and the open air in all its meanings, but most of all I have so many ideas, perhaps too many, and the irrepressible desire to realize them all!
I like to say what I think and I’m very grateful to those who do the same. From the beginning I did not consider this a job, but rather a project to share. What I want is that the Casaalpina will be experienced by those who choose it as a home, you are not guests or clients, you are at home. In Casaalpina you live according to your needs and you treat it weell as you do with the things that are important to you.
WE IMAGINE THE HOUSE AS A HUGE BEECH TREE, WITH SOLID ROOTS, HARMONIOUS SHAPES, RICH LINFA. CHILDREN, FAMILIES, HIKERS WHO WANT TO SPEND THEIR TIME IN THE HOUSE ARE THE LEAVES OF THIS TREE, FED BY HIS LINFA. AS THEY GROW THEY SUPPORT THE LIFE OF THIS TREE
The idea of sharing the project applies to those who are on vacation, but also for those who work there. For the moment there is no permanent staff, but little by little it we have created a group of people who love this land, the park, or are part of our association “Ecotourism in the Maritimes”. I like to see inside of them the same enthusiasm that I have, and I love it even more to listen to their suggestions so that everyone can find some of their personalities in what we are building.
The Casaalpina is a member of Ecotourism in the Maritime and therefore undertakes to subscribe to the principles enshrined in the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism signed by the National Park of the Maritime Alps in 2001. How? Choosing to give value to the local food supply chain, paying the utmost attention to the reception of those minorities who often find it difficult to see their needs met.
Wherever possible we try to ensure maximum flexibility in meal times so that the public with special needs can find a suitable service. Casaalpina is part of a project of the valley, along with the local population, the Maritime Alps Park, the towns of Valdieri and Entracque, the Living Museum of Rye and the Ecotourism Association in which the Maritime involves 50 operators of the valley. ”
